Service Technician 

Forklift and Equipment Repair

 

Job Description:

Independently perform complex on-site and in-shop diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer and business-owned equipment. Some guidance may be required from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.

 

Responsibilities:

- Conduct complex diagnostics and repairs on forklifts and equipment.

- Participate in Service Training programs.

- Review and explain maintenance or repair concerns with customers; document on work order.

- Promote service programs to customers.

- Collaborate with the Parts Department to maintain seasonal parts inventory.

- Maintain knowledge of forklifts, equipment, and competitive products.

- Keep the service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment in good condition.

- Follow safety regulations and complete required reports and forms.

- Account for time, parts, and materials used.

- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to the company safety program.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.

- Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using specialized tools.

- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in forklifts and equipment.

- Basic computer skills.

- Ability to operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment.

- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly.

- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.

- Valid driver’s license required.
